About The Role
Our Product Owners are responsible for defining, prioritising and governing valuable business change across Ecotricity's digital, data and operational platforms. They own the "why" and "what" for their value stream, ensuring that business priorities, customer needs and organisational objectives are translated into clear, measurable and deliverable outcomes.
This reflects our operating model where Product Owners own value streams, priorities and outcomes, whilst Delivery Managers and Technical Leads own delivery execution.
The success of our business relies on effective digital channels, integrated systems and a self-service-first model. The energy industry is complex, and many systems, suppliers and operational teams must work together to deliver excellent customer experiences.
The Product Owner plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products and services by:
- Understanding business problems and customer needs.
- Leading product discovery and prioritisation.
- Maintaining a clear roadmap of future investment.
- Measuring outcomes and realised value.
- Ensuring delivery teams have well-defined, high-quality work ready for development.
Working closely with UX, Delivery Managers, Technical Leads, QA Engineers, Architects and business stakeholders, Product Owners help ensure we build the right things, in the right order, for the right reasons.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Flexibility Statement
The fast moving nature of the business means that from time to time you may be asked to perform duties or tasks outside of your original job description on an ad hoc basis. Ecotricity is Britain's overall greenest energy company- it’s more than just green energy – the breadth and depth of our work on green issues is unmatched. When we started back in 1995, we were the first company in the world to provide a new kind of electricity - the green kind.
Our mission was, and remains, to change the way energy is made and used in Britain - by replacing fossil fuels with clean, renewable energy.
We don't just supply green energy, we use the money from our customers' bills to make it ourselves too – we have built windmills and sun parks in Britain. We call this turning 'bills into mills'.
We don't just focus on energy though- we built the Electric Highway, Britain's leading network of electric vehicle charging points; we helped Forest Green Rovers become the greenest football club in the world; and we launched Britain's greenest mobile phone service, Ecotalk, where they use the money from their customers' bills to protect and regenerate Britain's lost rainforests.
Ecotricity is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to providing equality for all.
