Product Owner / Business Analyst – Finance Data Transformation | 6-Month Contract
Location: Manchester or Leeds - Flexible working environment
Rate: Inside IR35 - £450-£500 via a compliant Umbrella
Start: ASAP
Robert Half is currently supporting a client on a major Finance Data Transformation programme and is looking for an experienced Product Owner or Business Analyst to join the team on an initial 6-month contract.
This role is ideal for someone who can bridge the gap between Finance and Technology, supporting the delivery of modern finance processes and driving the adoption of new data products and reporting capabilities.
You'll be responsible for:
- Gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Translating finance requirements into user stories for technical teams.
- Working closely with Finance stakeholders to redesign and improve accounting processes.
- Supporting test planning and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Driving the adoption of new processes and Tableau reporting.
- Acting as the key point of contact between Finance and Technology, ensuring stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout delivery.
- Identifying opportunities to automate and improve manual finance processes.

Essential experience:

- Previous experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role.
- A strong Finance or Accounting background is essential – you'll need to understand accounting processes and confidently engage with Finance stakeholders.
- Experience working with Tableau, Power BI, or another BI/reporting tool, with an understanding of how reporting solutions support business adoption and decision-making.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to become the trusted "go-to" person for both business and technical teams.
- Strong experience gathering and translating business requirements.
- Naturally inquisitive, with the ability to challenge existing processes, connect the dots across complex business areas, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- A collaborative approach with excellent communication skills and the confidence to drive change and user adoption.
