Billing Product Owner (Senior)

We are currently delivering a major Billing Transformation Programme, introducing a new enterprise billing platform to replace our existing system. Alongside this transformation, we must continue to support and maintain our current platform, ensuring continuity and accuracy while carefully managing complex and business-critical data, processes, and structures. This creates a unique opportunity to be part of a high-impact programme, helping to protect and evolve our billing capability while transitioning to a modern, future-ready solution.

We are looking for an experienced and highly driven Billing Product Owner to join DP World in Southampton and play a critical role in the success of the Billing Transformation Programme. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, owning the billing product end-to-end to ensure accuracy, consistency, and long-term sustainability of billing across DP World UK.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, IT, and Operations, as well as programme and Group (Zodiac) teams, to define and govern billing rules, logic, and configuration. This role is key to ensuring alignment between commercial agreements, system capabilities, and operational processes.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, data-driven environments, enjoys bridging business and technical domains, and can take true ownership of a critical business product from transformation through to long-term operational management.

Location

Southampton (Hybrid)

Your Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end billing product, including billing rules, logic, and general configuration principles.
  • Act as the central authority for billing-related decisions, governance, and change control.
  • Define and deliver the Billing Target Operating Model (TOM), including processes, controls, roles, and governance.
  • Ensure alignment between commercial agreements, tariff structures, and billing system configuration.
  • Translate complex commercial requirements into clear billing logic and system rules.
  • Govern billing configuration standards, including master data, rate structures, and documentation.
  • Approve and control changes to billing rules, ensuring integrity and traceability.
  • Act as the bridge between Finance, Commercial, IT, and Operations for all billing-related matters.
  • Lead definition of billing requirements for the new enterprise billing system (Zodiac).
  • Validate system design and configuration to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Support testing, rollout, and adoption of the billing platform.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of billing outputs across terminals.
  • Formalise and retain billing knowledge to reduce reliance on individual Single Points of Expertise (SMEs).
  • Establish sustainable governance and operating practices post-implementation.
  • Take ongoing ownership and evolution of the billing product after go-live.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
