Company: Mercer

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Private Market’s team at Mercer. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Product & Platforms Strategy Lead sits within Mercer’s Private Markets business, supporting the development of digital product strategy and platform roadmaps that align with business priorities, investment needs, and client expectations. Based in the Global Operating Office, the role works across business and functional teams to help shape priorities, translate requirements, and support the evolution of key platform capabilities.

This role partners closely with stakeholders across Investment, Data, Technology, Operations, Client, and Sales teams to ensure product and platform initiatives remain aligned to business goals and governance processes. It combines product strategy, people leadership, and cross-functional coordination, helping connect business priorities with technology and data delivery plans.

In addition to day-to-day product and platform leadership, the role contributes to broader strategic initiatives across Private Markets, including operating model development, innovation opportunities, external partnerships, and integration activity related to business growth. It is well suited to someone with strong private markets experience who can lead a small team, work effectively across functions, and bring structure and clarity to a complex environment. Some international travel is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of the digital product strategy and platform roadmap for Mercer’s Private Markets business
  • Translate business priorities, investment needs, and client requirements into clear plans, product direction, and prioritized initiatives
  • Partner with Investment leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support prioritization, roadmap planning, and alignment to business objectives
  • Act as a link between business teams and technology/data teams, helping ensure requirements are clearly defined and solutions are aligned to business needs
  • Lead and develop the Product & Platforms team, setting priorities, supporting capability development, and fostering a strong team environment
  • Help manage product and platform governance processes, including prioritization and release coordination aligned to business priorities
  • Contribute to strategic change initiatives across Private Markets, including platform evolution and operating model development
  • Support integration activity related to acquisitions and business growth, helping align platforms, processes, and ways of working
  • Identify and sponsor innovation opportunities, including AI-related use cases, that can improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience
  • Support external partner and vendor relationships that enhance Mercer’s platform and analytics capabilities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
