Role Title: Product Portfolio Director - Audit Technology
Contract Length: 12 months

Role Summary
We are seeking an interim Product Portfolio Director - Audit Technology to lead a strategically critical portfolio of technology products that support the delivery of audit services.
This role is accountable for the quality, timely, and on-budget delivery of multiple technology solutions - including a heavy focus on the integration of AI and machine learning, data and analytical tools, and other rapidly evolving technologies - leading cross-functional teams from strategy and planning through to implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will shape how technology is embedded across the audit practice, working closely with business leaders, product teams, engineers, and delivery specialists to improve the way audit work is performed. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong product and delivery leadership, commercial judgement, and the ability to align senior stakeholders around clear priorities and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy & Ownership
- Define and lead the product strategy and roadmap for a portfolio of audit technology products, aligned to business priorities and long-term transformation goals
- Own the portfolio product roadmap, ensuring alignment across business priorities, technology strategy, and delivery plans
- Balance innovation, enhancement, and BAU priorities across multiple products and platforms
- Work with architects and other stakeholders to ensure the latest technology and user-centred design are always at the forefront of product strategy
- Drive investment decisions, prioritisation, and trade-offs across the portfolio
Product Lifecycle Leadership
- Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, including:
- Innovation and discovery
- Product design and development
- Deployment and release management
- Adoption and change enablement
- Benefits realisation and adoption optimisation
- Ensure strong product management discipline, including clear product vision, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes
- Lead a team of Senior Product Managers, Product Managers, and the wider capabilities supporting these teams, helping them to strategically shape their product and the portfolio roadmap and develop professionally

Stakeholder & Business Engagement
- Act as a senior interface between business leadership, technology teams, and key delivery partners
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to use technology to improve quality, insight, productivity, and consistency in the audit delivery model
- Translate business needs into clear product strategies and deliverables
- Drive senior stakeholder alignment and engagement across executive and operational leadership groups
Delivery Across Complex Organisations
- Collaborate across distributed technology and business teams to support joined-up product development and delivery
- Ensure business requirements are prioritised and reflected in delivery priorities and product decisions
- Manage dependencies across teams, suppliers, products, and delivery timelines
Delivery Oversight & Governance
- Provide oversight of multiple technology deliveries, ensuring solutions are delivered to the required quality, on time, and within budget
- Work closely with product, engineering, operations, and delivery teams to ensure effective governance and delivery practices
- Manage risks, dependencies, and escalations across the portfolio
Adoption & Value Realisation
- Drive adoption of assigned audit technology products across the audit practice
- Ensure solutions are designed and deployed in a way that demonstrably sustains audit quality and alignment with regulatory standards
- Establish and track benefits realisation metrics to measure how technology improves productivity, return on investment, and quality in the audit delivery model
- Work with change, training, and business teams to maximise adoption, impact, and value realisation
Innovation & Emerging Technology
- Identify and drive opportunities to embed AI, data & analytics, automation, and advanced technologies into core service delivery processes
- Foster a culture of innovation across the portfolio, including experimentation and continuous improvement
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a team of Product Managers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts
- Build a high-performing, collaborative, and outcome-focused culture
- Support capability development across product and delivery disciplines
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Significant experience leading technology product portfolios across multiple solutions and delivery teams
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology products, delivery methods, and operating models, with the ability to work effectively across product, engineering, operations, and business teams
- Proven experience in product management leadership
- Experience operating in a complex, matrixed, and global environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
- Experience driving adoption and value realisation of technology products
