Quality Assurance Engineer
ASE, an Akima company, is looking to hire a new Quality Assurance Engineer. You will apply knowledge and training in the performance of a variety of different tasking. This position requires the ability to work within a team environment in the office and warehouse. The position also requires the candidate to work alongside the material coordinator to ensure proper inventorying, kitting and shipping for 200 plus line items of parts and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming custom-made parts to ensure that they are accurate and within tolerance with the provided drawings. These parts are for the U.S. Army Materiel Command’s Picatinny Arsenal.
- Interpreting Drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate readings.
- Maintaining an accurate database for parts and property via specialized programs with minimal supervision.
- Perform all tasking IAW the company’s Quality Management System, (QMS) and all applicable technical publications.
- Possess exceptional attention to detail work routine.
- Works well within a team environment.
- Assemble kits in accordance with the technical data package on the statement of work.
- Possess and properly utilizes computer skills necessary to achieve accurate and timely database entry, report generation or document generation as required.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure proper inspection and testing of configuration items is accomplished prior to kitting and shipping.
- Assist the Material coordinator with shipping, packing, kitting, and receiving; to include shipment tracking of equipment and material; shipping and packing process will be accomplished IAW with MIL-STD-129 & 130 DOD standards.
- Conduct quality assurance procedures IAW company policies.
- Support internal and external quality assurance and inventory audits as required.

Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen able to pass a pre-employment background check including criminal and financial.
- Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (Associates Degree (AA) preferred).
- 2 years equivalent work experience doing the following:
- Working with machine tools and testing and measuring equipment: calipers, micrometer, depth gauges, combination square set, etc.
- Taking precise measurements.
- Using multimeters and insulation testers to assist with testing various cable types and cable assemblies.
- Excellent knowledge of material properties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work environment and physical Demands:
- This position involves working in an office/warehouse environment during hot and cold temperature conditions.
- Work in a noisy environment with some lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds required.
Preferred experience
- Experience in DOD or Department of the Army/Navy/Air Force supply parts and CL IX repair parts.
