Product Sampling & Cable Technician
Salary: £26,300 - £29,198 per annum
Location: Portsmouth
Hours: 39 Hours/week

The Role
We are looking for a Product Sampling & Cable Technician to join our Sample Department. This team manages the centralised sample warehouse, providing free evaluation samples to support new business development and offering expert advice to customers worldwide. This is a key role in helping secure new design-in opportunities and driving future sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of Harwin products and the markets we serve
- Provide sample selection recommendations to internal and external customers
- Process and manage sample orders from a global customer base
- Use ERP systems to efficiently manage and streamline sample processes
- Pick and manage stock using an automated carousel system
- Assemble products from components where required, including cable assemblies
- Package orders and liaise with the dispatch team for courier collection
- Maintain warehouse organisation, including stock control and stock takes
- Work independently to solve problems and meet departmental KPIs

About You
We’re looking for someone with a proactive approach and a strong attention to detail.
Essential:
- Experience working in a warehouse environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience building cable harnesses
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (or similar)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
