Product Solutions Manager – Pensions (VP)
As a Product Solutions Manager – Pensions (VP) within the Personal Investing team, you will provide deep UK pensions technical expertise and shape our personal pension proposition. You will define, document, and defend key product policy positions, ensuring we deliver the best outcomes for our customers, especially in complex or higher-risk scenarios. You will be a credible representative for regulatory engagement and own the ongoing pensions technical policy framework as the product evolves. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our policies, procedures, and controls are robust and customer-focused.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for pensions technical policy and interpretation, translating requirements into clear product rules and customer outcomes.
- Create and maintain the Pensions Technical Policy Library, including governance, change control, and versioning.
- Define and document “customer treatment” decision frameworks for key scenarios in collaboration with legal, compliance, and conduct teams.
- Partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Operations to align on policy intent and ensure defensible outcomes.
- Lead the creation of pensions wrapper documentation for launch and business as usual, including policies, procedures, and guidance.
- Support regulatory engagement, including FCA interactions and Variation of Permission (VoP) deliverables.
- Embed governance and controls, defining product governance inputs and ensuring resilience and customer outcome focus.
- Work with Product and Technology to convert technical policy into implementable requirements and validate outcomes.
- Define and monitor management information (MI) relevant to customer outcomes and product risk, driving remediation as needed.
- Participate in key internal and external forums, such as death benefits committees and industry working groups.
- Set and own technical policy positions, providing technical sign-off and escalating material uncertainties as needed.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Strong UK personal pensions/SIPP technical expertise with practical experience shaping policy and operational outcomes across the pension lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound, defensible judgments in ambiguous customer scenarios and document rationale for consistent execution.
- Proven effectiveness in regulated environments with multiple stakeholders, navigating governance and approvals.
- Experience translating complex technical requirements into clear product rules, procedures, controls, and communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and regulators.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience interacting with the FCA through direct or structured engagement.
- Experience launching or materially changing UK personal pensions/SIPP propositions in a scalable operating model.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed organisation, balancing delivery pace with control expectations.
- Completion of relevant pensions modules within the CII advanced diploma in financial planning (e.g., R04, J05, AF7, AF8).
