About the role:
Large Excavators are a vital part of JCB’s global growth strategy, and we are looking for a driven and commercially minded Product Specialist to help shape the future of our excavator portfolio.
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a key product range, ensuring JCB’s large excavator offering remains competitive, profitable, and aligned to customer and market needs. Working closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Commercial, and Regional teams, you will play a pivotal role in defining product strategy, driving product development, and delivering a compelling “Why Buy JCB” proposition across global markets.
As the product champion for the X-Series tracked excavator platform, you will combine customer insight, market intelligence, and technical understanding to influence future products, support product launches, and help maximise JCB’s market share and customer satisfaction worldwide.
What does this role involve day to day?
- Owning and developing the global product strategy and roadmap for JCB’s excavator range, ensuring it meets customer, market, and business requirements.
- Working closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Commercial teams to define product specifications, features, and future developments.
- Using customer feedback, dealer insight, and competitor analysis to identify opportunities, drive innovation, and maintain JCB’s competitive advantage.
- Supporting new product launches, pricing strategies, and product portfolio optimisation to maximise growth and profitability.
- Developing sales tools, training materials, and product communications that clearly demonstrate the value of JCB’s excavator offering.
- Providing product expertise through customer visits, demonstrations, technical support, and industry events across global markets.

This will be suited to you if...
- You have a strong understanding of construction equipment, ideally excavators, and a passion for delivering customer-focused product solutions.
- You can combine technical knowledge with commercial awareness to influence product strategy, profitability, and market success.
- You have experience working with customers, dealers, or sales teams in a product, engineering, technical, or commercial role.
- You’re an effective communicator who can translate complex technical information into clear and compelling customer benefits.
- You’re analytical, proactive, and confident using market trends, customer insight, and competitor intelligence to support decision-making.
- You enjoy building relationships and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across a global business.
- You’re self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities, and willing to travel internationally when required.
