Thales supports the security and stability of our nation by providing extraordinary technology to our customers, as well as delivering social value to the UK with our products and services.

We're looking for a Product Support Engineer to join our Service Operations team, supporting the Crowsnest Mission System and associated laboratory, network and support environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable and self-motivated engineer who enjoys solving problems, supporting customers, and ensuring the availability, reliability and supportability of mission-critical systems.

Location: Crawley

What The Role Has To Offer

As a Product Support Engineer, you'll play a key role in the through-life support of complex defence systems. You'll provide technical expertise across product support, laboratory management, network administration and customer support activities, helping to ensure systems remain operational, secure and fit for purpose.

Working closely with engineering teams, programme stakeholders and customers, you'll support service delivery, implement product improvements and act as a technical authority for product-related queries.

What You'll Be Doing

Product & Technical Support

  • Acting as a focal point for engineering and technical support queries relating to supported products and systems.
  • Providing technical advice to engineering teams, programme teams, manufacturing, repair organisations and customers.
  • Supporting product investigations, fault diagnosis, repairs and corrective actions.
  • Identifying and implementing design and supportability improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Managing technical documentation, reports, estimates and engineering deliverables.

BMN Administration

  • Administering and maintaining Battle Management Network (BMN) environments.
  • Managing system security, software updates, patches and configuration control.
  • Maintaining network integrity, user access controls and accreditation requirements.
  • Supporting audits and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Diagnosing and resolving network and system faults.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
