Product Support Engineer – Post Design Support Team

About the Role

Are you interested in working alongside some of the brightest minds in the manufacture of diverse and unique military equipment? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where your expertise is valued and your ideas are heard?

We are seeking a talented Product Support Engineer to join our Post Design Support Team, focusing on in-service and in-production equipment. As a key team member, you will help maintain and enhance designs across a range of in-service and production projects, applying and developing your engineering capability across multiple disciplines.


What You'll Do

  • Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to deliver high-quality technical outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice and design reviews in electrical engineering to support all projects.
  • Contribute to a broad range of engineering tasks, demonstrating adaptability and versatility, including:
    • Supporting mission-critical systems in-service for multiple decades, ensuring continued capability and reliability.
    • Taking ownership of design changes and ensuring correct design incorporation throughout the engineering lifecycle.
    • Liaising with customers, providing clear communication, technical alignment, and professional representation of the organisation.
    • Offering engineering support in both in-service and production environments, resolving issues and driving improvements.
    • Participating in internal and external meetings, shaping the future of the business.
    • Maintaining thorough, organised documentation while adhering to local operating procedures.

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • A HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, reflecting a strong educational foundation.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of liaising confidently with engineering and business teams to drive progress.
  • A team player mindset, thriving in a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, enabling effective task execution.
  • A rapid learner with a flexible, adaptable engineering approach to address diverse challenges.
  • An accurate, diligent, and methodical work style for an engineering environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels (suppliers, customers, and colleagues).
  • Familiarity with electrical schematic capture and drawing review, demonstrating a robust understanding of design processes.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of electronics, enabling innovation for future-proof solutions.
  • Experience supporting the design, assembly, testing, and delivery of complex Defence systems, suitable for high-stakes environments.
  • Experience designing Electrical systems, particularly for complex, high-stakes projects.
  • An ambition to progress into specialised or supervisory roles within the organisation, taking advantage of long-term growth opportunities.
