Product Support Engineer – Rail
Location: Based out of Mobile, covering London & Bristol areas – Van provided Employment Type: Full-time (Shift work, including days & nights)
About the Role
At Rolls-Royce, we shape a modern world through innovation in power, protection, and connectivity. As a Product Support Engineer – Rail, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing mtu rail products to the highest standards while embracing digitalisation.
Responsible to the Site Team Leader or Site Supervisor, this role ensures smooth operations through preventative and corrective maintenance, technical support, and customer sign-off.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement preventative and corrective maintenance tasks following approved manuals, schedules, and contractual requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance procedures and suggest efficiency enhancements.
- Perform planned maintenance tasks in line with operating instructions.
- Conduct fault diagnosis and repairs using technical resources (e.g., drawings, fault-finding guides).
- Ensure detailed documentation of all work carried out for company records and customer compliance.
- Engage in HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, Environment) management processes proactively.
- Maintain on-site facility cleanliness in accordance with SGB standards.
- Attend required training courses (local and factory) to keep skills up-to-date.
- Operate on a 24/7 shift basis, including callouts where needed.
- Provide mobile engineering support (van provided) to cover regional depots if required.
- Accurately track and report parts usage via internal inventory systems to optimise stock control.
- Utilise key IT systems (e.g., Go!Care, C4S, eWeb, Go!Manage, Go!, Diasys, Outlook) effectively.

Requirements
Essential
- Engineering background (correspondence to role preferred).
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Strong safety awareness with a commitment to compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, emails). On-the-job training provided for SAP and mtu Business Portal.
Preferred
- Proactive mindset with excellent initiative.
- Strong organisational skills and flexibility in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers.
