Product Support Engineer – Rail
Location: Mobile with a Bristol focus
Hours: Full-time – Shifts: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off

About the Role
This Product Support Engineer (Rail) role reports to the Supervisor, Site Team Leader, or Team Leader (depending on site requirements).
The engineer will provide routine maintenance, repairs, and proactive upkeep for mtu rail products, aligning with approved technical manuals and relevant contractual stipulations. Embracing digitalisation is a key part of this responsibility.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct preventative and scheduled maintenance, as well as corrective repairs, following protocols in maintenance schedules, manuals, and customer contracts
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements through new suggestions for operational enhancements
- Undertake planned maintenance tasks strictly adhering to operating instructions
- Attend and participate in customer meetings to obtain sign-off for completed work on their equipment
- Perform complex fault-finding and repairs using technical drawings, fault-finding guides, and system documentation
- Completion and submission of all documentation related to services performed for company and customer records
- Actively engage in Company HSQE management processes (Health, Safety, Quality, & Environment)
- Uphold on-site facility cleanliness and standards
- Attend local and factory training courses as needed to maintain and development technical competency
- Operate as a mobile engineer, utilising provided transportation
- 24/7 shift-based work, including emergency callouts when required
- Cross-cover responsibilities in alternative depots as operational needs arise
- Accurately report parts usage during service activities to maintain stock accuracy
- Efficient use of ** Roll-Royce systems**, including Go!Care, C4S, eWeb, Go!Manage, Go, Diasys, and Outlook

Qualifications
- Engineering background
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
- Self-motivated, methodical approach to work
- Strong safety awareness
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel spreadsheets, Worddocuments, and email)—training provided for SAP and MTU Business Portal
