Product Support Engineer – Rail
Location: Mobile to cover London & Bristol Area – Van provided Employment Type: Full-Time, 4 ON 4 OFF Shift Work (Days & Nights)

The Role
Reporting to the Supervisor, Site Team Leader, or Team Leader, as applicable, the Product Support Engineer ensures optimal performance of mtu rail products through preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance.
You’ll play a vital role in embracing digitalisation within operations while delivering fast, reliable service.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Maintenance & Repairs
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on mtu rail products in line with approved manuals and contractual standards.
- Follow operating instructions and maintenance schedules during planned tasks.

Customer Interaction
- Attend meetings with clients to obtain sign-offs for repair/examination work completed.

Troubleshooting & Technical Excellence
- Conduct complex fault diagnostics and repairs using technical resources (e.g., schematics, fault-finding guides).
- Ensure accurate documentation of all work activities (internal and client-facing).

Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Contribute to HSQE processes (Health, Safety, Quality & Environment) to maintain high standards.
- Propose improvement suggestions for maintenance and procedures.
- Maintain on-site cleanliness of relevant facilities.

Development & Training
- Attend training (local and factory-led) to maintain technical proficiency.

Flexible Work Commitments
- Operate under 24/7 shift coverage, including periodic on-call duties.
- Travel as required (van provided), covering multiple depots or regions.

Systems & Processes
- Parts management: Log and report used materials via internal workflows.
- Utilise IT systems (e.g., Go!Care, C4S, eWeb, Go!Manage, Diasys, Outlook, SAP). On-the-job training provided for business tools.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Engineering degree/diploma (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
- Self-starter mentality: Work methodically yet adaptably, emphasing safety first
- Strong attention to detail with proven technical competence
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook); SAP training provided
