Product Technical Lead

Product Technical Lead

We are seeking a Product Technical Lead to oversee the full lifecycle of products, from initial concept and development through production, delivery, and post-launch support. The role involves leading the development of new products, providing technical support for existing products, and working closely with supply chain, manufacturing and sales teams to ensure strong product performance and commercial success.

What you will do as Product Technical Lead:

  • Work with internal stakeholders and external customers to understand requirements, industry drivers and market trends
  • Lead research and development activities for new product creation
  • Provide technical support for existing product ranges
  • Support production teams with process and product-related guidance
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability and smooth product delivery
  • Provide technical input and product knowledge to support sales and commercial teams
  • Communicate product development progress, risks, and outputs to senior leadership
  • Ensure products comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Monitor product performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across the full product lifecycle
  • Identify, document, and help protect intellectual property arising from development work
  • Develop cost estimates and budgets for new product development projects
  • Monitor capital expenditure (CERs) related to products and ensure alignment with budget targets
  • Evaluate cost impacts of design, material selection, and manufacturing decisions
  • Support pricing strategy with technical input on product value and cost structure
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process efficiency improvements
  • Provide budgeting and cost planning for customer-specific testing and validation activities

What we are looking for:

  • Experience with fireproof coatings (e.g. intumescent systems)
  • Experience in silicone chemistry
  • Experience in fabric coatings
  • MSc in Chemistry or Materials Science (or equivalent experience)
