Production Assistant – Biocomposites

About the Role

Biocomposites is an international medical devices company specialising in infection management solutions for bone and soft tissue. Headquartered in Keele, UK, with operations across Europe, USA, Argentina, Canada, China, and India, we develop innovative calcium compounds and bone cements used in surgical applications.

Our products regenerate bone, managing infection risks in:

  • Musculoskeletal infection
  • Orthopaedics

With over one million procedures per year in 100+ countries, Biocomposites is committed to expanding our market impact by entering new specialities and geographies.

Now part of our growing team, you’ll work in our Keele manufacturing facility, a core hub for global production. As a Production Assistant, you’ll contribute to the assembly team, ensuring the accurate manufacture of our high-impact medical devices.


Responsibilities

  • Wear appropriate PPE and gowns, adhering to cleanroom protocols
  • Follow and meticulously execute written manufacturing instructions, including Batch Manufacturing Records
  • Complete prime documentation for regulatory compliance
  • Perform routine production tasks within assigned parameters
  • Ensure full competency in all tasks, highlighting any training gaps to supervisors
  • Maintain a clean, well-organised workspace to support efficient manufacturing
  • Report quality, equipment, or material issues immediately to management
  • Comply with all Biocomposites policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practice—GMP)
  • Conduct regular cleaning and environmental monitoring to certified standards
  • Implement strong housekeeping practices in alignment with manufacturing needs

Requirements

  • At least 12 months of manufacturing experience in a production operative role
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Precision and accuracy in task execution
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to take initiative in a highly controlled production setting
  • Candidates with OCC experience or cleanroom familiarity will be advantageous

Location & Hours

📍 Keele Head Office 🕘 Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:00 (37.5 hours per week)
