Production Chemist
Location: Uktoxeter, United Kingdom Ref: req29151 Employer: BOC Limited, a Linde company
What You Will Enjoy Doing
- Produce high-accuracy calibration gases and reference materials using gravimetric methods in line with ISO 6142 and accredited quality standards under ISO 17034
- Manufacture oxygen and flammable gas mixtures safely and consistently using defined operating procedures
- Prepare cylinders for filling through painting, valve fitting, treatment, and evacuation to ensure quality and readiness
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to manage ordering, stock control, and sourcing of cylinders and gases
- Support site logistics, including forklift operations and coordination of cylinder transfers across locations
What Makes You Great
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with regular interaction required across the team and stakeholders
- Strong organisational ability, capable of working independently or as part of a cohesive team
- IT literacy and adaptability to custom software, Microsoft Word/Excel, and database systems
- Extensive experience in:
- Handling gas cylinders
- Operating vacuum equipment
- Managing laboratory high-pressure gas control systems
- Using high-precision balances
- Working with high-pressure gaseous systems
