Production Chemist

Location: Uktoxeter, United Kingdom Ref: req29151 Employer: BOC Limited, a Linde company

What You Will Enjoy Doing

  • Produce high-accuracy calibration gases and reference materials using gravimetric methods in line with ISO 6142 and accredited quality standards under ISO 17034
  • Manufacture oxygen and flammable gas mixtures safely and consistently using defined operating procedures
  • Prepare cylinders for filling through painting, valve fitting, treatment, and evacuation to ensure quality and readiness
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to manage ordering, stock control, and sourcing of cylinders and gases
  • Support site logistics, including forklift operations and coordination of cylinder transfers across locations

What Makes You Great

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with regular interaction required across the team and stakeholders
  • Strong organisational ability, capable of working independently or as part of a cohesive team
  • IT literacy and adaptability to custom software, Microsoft Word/Excel, and database systems
  • Extensive experience in:
    • Handling gas cylinders
    • Operating vacuum equipment
    • Managing laboratory high-pressure gas control systems
    • Using high-precision balances
    • Working with high-pressure gaseous systems
