We are currently recruiting for a Production Control Manager to join a growing manufacturing business where you can influence production performance and drive operational efficiency.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of production planning, scheduling, material readiness and capacity planning, ensuring manufacturing operations run efficiently and customer delivery targets are consistently achieved.

This is a key leadership role, working closely with Sales, Procurement, Design & shop floor teams to ensure resources, materials and manufacturing capacity are aligned with business demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS), balancing customer demand with manufacturing capacity
  • Maintain and optimize schedules in line with shop floor feedback, process improvements and changing customer requirements
  • Manage ERP/MRP systems to ensure materials are available in line with requirements
  • Monitor material availability, ensuring raw materials and purchased components arrive on time
  • Analyse production capacity across laser cutting, CNC machining, welding, paint and assembly operations
  • Collaborate with the Design team to improve Bills of Materials, manufacturing data and scheduling accuracy
  • Analyse product costings, identify discrepancies and work with Finance and Sales to improve costing accuracy
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across planning, scheduling and manufacturing processes

About You

  • Previous experience within Production Planning, Control or Manufacturing Planning role
  • 10+ years' experience within an engineering environment
  • Previous leadership or management experience would be highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across various departments of the business
  • Calm, analytical and solutions-focused under pressure

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within sheet metal, fabrication, CNC machining or heavy engineering
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Understanding of automated processes such as robotic welding or CNC production
