Production Controller – Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey

Job Summary

Leading designer and manufacturer of specialist safety equipment for hazardous areas is seeking an experienced Production Controller to join their in-house Manufacturing Team. Based in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, with a 40-hour week, flexible start/finish times, early finishes on Fridays (4 PM), and paid overtime, this opportunity offers a competitive salary (£40,000 – £50,000, with benefits).

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, scheduling, and progression of customer orders from sales through production to shipment.
  • Ensure data integrity in Epicor Kinetic ERP system.
  • Coordinate across departments: Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Sales.
  • Monitor and optimise production workflows to meet deadlines and capacity demands.
  • Support continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency.
  • Adapt to emerging technologies in safety equipment design and fabrication.

Typical Day

  • ** Morning & early starts (7 AM-8 AM) with Friday finish by 4 PM.
  • Collaborative mindset – Regular stakeholder briefings and meeting participation.
  • Problem-solving focus – Balancing short-term priorities with long-term production planning.

Requirements

✅ Essential Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a Production Controller, Planner, Scheduler, or Supervisor role within manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in ERP systems, particularly Epicor Kinetic (training available if necessary).
  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, and supply chain workflows.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with an eye for process efficiency.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Friendly and confident communicator able to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams.

✅ Nice to Have (Bonus)

  • Familiarity with safety engineering or hazardous environments compliance (advantageous but not essential).
  • Experience with sales order management systems or ** Shop Floor Control (SFC) tools**.
