Company Description

Original Theatre is a critically acclaimed, award-winning UK-based touring theatre company and producer of digital theatre. We produce vibrant exciting productions of both classic plays and new writing.

Role Description

The Production Coordinator will ensure the efficient day-to-day running of Original Theatre and support the Original Theatre artists, creatives, and freelancers.

Previous experience within the arts/creative industry within an administrative capacity is not essential but would be beneficial.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Administration:

  • Keep production and company budgets up to date
  • Support cashflow documents and financial reporting
  • Reconcile monthly credit card expenses
  • Create/submit weekly remittance advices for cast and creatives
  • Manage finance inbox; log and file invoices
  • Support external accountants with queries and month-end reconciliation
  • Log weekly payment runs as directed

Production Administration:

  • Undertake research tasks as directed
  • Source rehearsal/reading venues and meeting rooms
  • Support equipment orders and UK/international travel arrangements
  • Support show delivery: availability checks, record keeping including contact sheets and production schedules
  • Assist with contracting tasks, including offers to agents as directed
  • Organise insurance cover as directed
  • Liaise with actors/creatives/agents for bios, measurements, etc.
  • Work with PR colleagues to coordinate cast interviews
  • Attend rehearsals, openings, and readings as needed
  • Attend and minute company/production meetings

Person specification

Essential:

  • Strong Office 365 skills, especially Excel and Word
  • Basic admin experience including minute-taking, filing, and processing of invoices
  • Able to manage a busy, varied workload, balancing multiple deadlines
  • Good numeracy and basic understanding of financial processes
  • Calm under pressure with a can-do attitude
  • Willing to work evenings/weekends when required
  • Adaptable in fast-paced environments
  • Strong people and communication skills, able to liaise with talent, agents, suppliers, and colleagues with tact and diplomacy

Desirable:

  • Experience in an arts company or venue (particularly online/touring content)
  • Comfortable with last-minute changes to priorities
