This position reports to:

Production Engineering Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize production processes, methodologies, and equipment across the Instrumentation product lines, helping unlock their full potential. You will be empowered to assess current processes, introduce new improvement ideas using lean manufacturing concepts, and deliver tangible impact to cycle time, productivity, efficiency, and ergonomics. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will collaborate and discuss how best to de-risk processes, improve communication channels and build effective relationships.

The work model for the role is: on-site at ABBs Stonehouse location.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Identifying and recommending improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements. Approving the design for processes developed internally or externally and performing final tests with respect to the project. Providing support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources. Evaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices.

Key Skills & Experience

Strong mechanical engineering background, including design of fixtures and tooling Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred, but not essential) Able to balance reactive production support with proactive improvement initiatives Proven experience delivering measurable continuous improvement results Strong analytical thinking and structured problem‑solving skills

Qualifications For The Role

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) 5+ years experience in a manufacturing and assembly environment, experience with electromagnetic flow meters is an advantage Experience in production or process improvement engineering roles Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (Lean Six Sigma, 5S, root cause analysis) Strong communication skills across all levels of an engineering organization Team‑focused, organized, and detail‑oriented
