Role Overview
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity for a Production Lab Technician.
In this role, you will operate production equipment used in both conventional semen processing and advanced cell sorting technologies within a clean, controlled laboratory environment.
Working as part of a skilled production team, you will carry out daily tasks assigned by the Shift Leader, ensuring all activities are completed in line with safety, quality, and operational standards. You will be cross-trained across multiple production areas to develop a broad skill set, provide operational flexibility, and support the changing needs of the business while contributing to the delivery of high-quality products.
You Will
- Prepare equipment and materials for the production process.
- Operate instruments for conventional semen processing and cell sorting technology.
- Use automated systems to perform production operations.
- Assemble and prepare equipment for production.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues in collaboration with team members and supervisors.
- Understand the principles and theory behind both semen processing and cell sorting technology.
- Anticipate potential issues and take proactive steps to prevent disruptions.
- Review and verify documentation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed production records.
- Communicate effectively within the Operations team, both verbally and in writing.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization.
- Comply with all safety requirements, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.
- Provide support to meet production demands across multiple areas.
Requirements
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent secondary school qualification.
- Experience in a laboratory or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
- Understanding of “Right First Time” principles.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Proficient in using computers and digital systems.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to high performance standards.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a car for daily travel to work.
- Positive, proactive attitude.
