About the Role
IPS is seeking a confident, hands-on Production Line Leader to join its team at the Sherburn-in-Elmet site in Yorkshire. In this role, you’ll lead fast-paced production and warehousing operations for one of the world’s largest beverage organisations, ensuring top-tier performance, team motivation, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
The role involves mon–fri shifts (07:00–14:00), with occasional flexibility for evening shifts (14:00–22:00) depending on operational demands.
Key Responsibilities

Production Line Setup & Security:
- Set up production lines for each shift, performing start-up checks and health & safety audits to ensure smooth operations.

Stock Management & Logistics:
- Control and move stock efficiently within the fast-paced warehousing environment.
- Regular heavy lifting, loading, and palletising as part of daily duties.

Team Leadership & Performance:
- Lead, motivate, and support your team to meet production targets and uphold high performance standards.
- Train and develop colleagues, fostering capability and mitigating team capacity gaps.

Quality & Compliance Assurance:
- Ensure finished products meet client specifications and quality expectations.
- Monitor KPIs (output, downtime, waste) to identify improvements.
- Champion strict adherence to health, safety, hygiene, and GMP standards.

Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement:
- Drive productivity hourly and daily to deliver production plans on time.
- Maintain accurate paperwork and shift handovers.
- Ensure audit-ready compliance with internal and external hygiene standards.

Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with agency controllers to support workforce planning.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
- Previous experience in fast-paced production, warehousing, or manufacturing.
- Relevant operational background in a beverage or contract packing environment.
- Forklift certification is highly advantageous (though not essential if joining straight from WPS).
Desired Skills
- Proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams to exceed targets.
- Strong sense of ownership and results-driven mindset.
- Thorough understanding of production machinery, manufacturing processes, and operational best practice.
- Attention to detail in managing paperwork, OEE tracking, and stock accuracy.
- Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills with quick decision-making abilities.
