Production Line Leader

Production Line Leader – IPS (Contract Packing Solutions)

About the Role & Company

Part of the Culina Group, IPS is the leading Contract Packing Solutions provider in the UK, offering the most comprehensive range of equipment and expertise.Based in Saint Helens, this role is ideal for a hands-on professional thriving in fast-paced environments. We work across three key slots:

  • 6am–2pm
  • 2pm–10pm
  • 10pm–6am

(Flexibility for candidates available only for 1 or 2 shifts!)

Responsibilities

Key Duties

  • Operational Leadership – Set up production each shift, conducting start-up and safety checks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Team Motivation – Lead, coach, and inspire colleagues to consistently meet targets while maintaining high standards.
  • Training & Development – Mentor new hires, building operational confidence and capability across the team.
  • Quality Control – Ensure all finished products strictly adhere to client specifications and FMCG quality standards.
  • Efficiency Monitoring – Track KPIs (output, downtime, waste) to identify improvements and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Daily Productivity – Drive hourly and daily performance to meet production plans.
  • Safety & Compliance – Champion health, safety, hygiene, and quality standards, keeping areas audit-ready for regulations.
  • Record-Keeping – Maintain accurate paperwork and systems in line with company procedures.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

✔ Proven experience in fast-paced production or manufacturing (preferably FMCG/food manufacturing). ✔ Leadership abilities to motivate, coach, and exceed targets with your team. ✔ Hands-on operational expertise in production machinery and best practices. ✔ Attention to detail (especially in HSE, paperwork, and stock accuracy). ✔ Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. ✔ Self-motivated, results-driven, and action-oriented.

✅ Confident communicator with clear engagement at all levels. ✅ Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement. ✅ Adaptable to shift patterns and high-pressure situations.
