Introduction

Arla Foods Oswestry are looking for a proficient Production Line Leader to join the team on a permanent basis. As a Production Line Leader, you will play an integral part in the efficient running of the packing lines in our production area within a Cheese packaging site.

You will play an important role in ensuring the packaging lines run smoothly, ensuring products such as Castello, BOB and Arla Pro are packaged in a timely manner so they can be distributed to the all major UK retailers including Waitrose, M&S, Asda and Aldi.

At our Arla Oswestry site we pack circa 79,000 tonnes or cheese annually, 1620 tonnes per week. This includes supplying branded products like Castello, BOB and Arla Pro, along with private label to Waitrose, M&S, Asda and Aldi!

About the job

The successful candidate will work a 3 on, 3 off, 12 hours shift pattern that will include both day and night shifts. They will contribute to the quality and technical areas in the Production team to enable it to produce the highest quality cheese products in a reliable and cost effective way. Duties will include

  • Effectively run packing lines by using production IT systems
  • Perform simple maintenance tasks on packing lines
  • Maintain strict Health and Safety and Food Hygiene standards within the department
  • Monitor equipment performance and correct / raise issues before they become problems
  • Contribute to the team reporting and decision making process

What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role

  • Previous experience in an FMCG or related company
  • Food hygiene certificate
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent is desirable to demonstrate basic level of vocational learning ability.
  • Experience of SAP process order management and automated data collection systems i.e. OEE
