Production Manager
The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality events from concept through to completion. They will oversee all production elements, ensuring events are executed safely, efficiently, on budget, and to the highest possible standard while maintaining excellent client relationships.
This role requires exceptional organisation skills, strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple events from initial enquiry through to post-event evaluation.
- Develop detailed event production plans and schedules.
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of event delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Conduct site visits and venue assessments.
- Produce production schedules, running orders, and event timelines.
- Lead event setup, live event operations, and breakdown.
Production Management
- Coordinate all technical production including:
- Audio
- Lighting
- Video
- Staging
- Power
- Rigging
- Site build
- Liaise with production suppliers and freelancers.
- Ensure all production elements integrate seamlessly.
Team Management
- Lead production crews on-site.
- Manage freelance staff and contractors.
- Allocate responsibilities and oversee workloads.
- Conduct team briefings before events.
- Foster a positive and professional working environment.

Supplier Management
- Source and negotiate with suppliers.
- Obtain quotations.
- Monitor supplier performance.
- Develop long-term supplier relationships.
Budget Management
- Prepare event budgets.
- Monitor project expenditure.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure profitability targets are achieved.
- Approve invoices and supplier costs.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation.
- Complete and review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Ensure safe working practices during build, event, and breakdown.
- Report incidents and implement corrective actions where required.
Administration
- Maintain accurate project documentation.
- Update project management systems.
- Produce event reports and post-event evaluations.
- Keep records of budgets, schedules, and client communications.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience managing live events.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Budget management experience.
- Knowledge of event production processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel when required.
- Technical production knowledge.

Desirable:
- Experience within live events or production.
- IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience using project management software.

Working Hours
Due to the nature of the events industry, this role requires flexibility. Working hours will include evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and overnight builds where necessary.
