Overview

Production Manager (12-month FTC) – Corby

We’re preparing our Corby site for the introduction of a new ERP system. While that work ramps up behind the scenes, we need someone focused on keeping production running as it should—safe, steady, and on plan.

This role is about maintaining control on the shopfloor during a period of change. You’ll keep output on track, teams aligned, and issues handled before they turn into bigger problems.

The Role

You’ll be the operational lead on the shopfloor, working closely with the Operations Manager to deliver daily production. It’s a hands-on role—supporting Supervisors, managing performance, and keeping shifts running without drama.

You’ll turn plans into clear direction, deal with problems as they arise, and keep communication tight across teams and shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Run day-to-day production to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
  • Translate production plans into clear priorities for Supervisors and teams
  • Monitor KPIs (output, efficiency, downtime, scrap) and act when performance dips
  • Escalate risks, constraints, and performance issues early
  • Lead, coach, and develop Production Supervisors and Team Leaders
  • Drive accountability and consistent performance across the shopfloor
  • Ensure smooth shift operations, including clear and effective handovers
  • Monitor staffing levels and flag risks or gaps
  • Champion safe working practices and reinforce expectations on the floor
  • Support incident investigations and ensure actions are seen through
  • Work with Quality and Engineering to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Collaborate with Planning to ensure schedules are realistic and deliverable
  • Identify and lead practical improvements to productivity and efficiency

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
