Production Manager

Production Manager – Live Event Production

About the Role

Join Emota, a leading brand of 500+ thinkers, creators, and makers, as a Production Manager within our world-class live event production team.

In this hybrid role (home office + onsite delivery), you’ll report to a Technical Director while having regular access to one of our collaborative creative offices in London or Manchester.

You’ll lead the technical delivery of high-impact live, virtual, and hybrid events, from concept to execution, shaping technical solutions, managing client and supplier relationships, and ensuring seamless, safe, and exceptional delivery aligned with the highest creative and technical standards.


Responsibilities

In this fast-paced, multi-project environment, your key duties include:

  • Leading onsite and virtual production delivery, maintaining full accountability for client and supplier interactions
  • Support the creation of production budgets
  • Technical specification development for events, covering:
    • Lighting
    • Sound
    • AV
    • IT
    • Construction
  • Collaborating with technical suppliers to ensure high-quality, compliant deliveries within budget and timeline
  • Briefing crew, suppliers, and stakeholders, updating requirements and producing necessary documentation (e.g., crew sheets, schedules, show running orders)
  • Managing project action plans, timelines, and safety protocols while ensuring timely distribution of critical documents
  • Providing accurate, responsive support to client queries and managing scope changes dynamically
  • Developing production execution plans to ensure safe, controlled, and compliant delivery
  • Adhering to approval procedures and Live Events quality/sustainability protocols
  • Overseeing equipment and event asset management
  • Offering hands-on support for virtual/live projects and pitches
  • Managing technical budgets, identifying financial anomalies, and maintaining up-to-date industry knowledge

Requirements

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Technical or Production Management
  • A deep understanding of the events industry, media/facilities/technology trends
  • Proven ability to manage complex multi-vendor productions across large crews
  • Mastery of event production workflows, tech specs, and health & safety standards
  • Strong familiarity with virtual event platforms and technologies
  • Commercial awareness, with experience handling budget elements in production
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating vendor agreements
  • Exceptional customer service ethic and commitment to quality standards
  • CAD skills (advantageous)
