Production Manager (Evesham Site)
Reporting to: Site Leader – MPT Evesham Department: Operations
Key Purpose
Lead and optimise assembly & manufacturing operations for capital equipment/products at the Evesham site, ensuring: ✅ On-time delivery of projects ✅ Adherence to budget and quality/safety standards ✔ Continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and team development
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Delivery
- Execute production plans to meet customer delivery schedules and project milestones.
- Coordinate build schedules for complex engineered-to-order (ETO) or configure-to-order (CTO) products.
- Manage capacity, labour allocation, and workflow for optimal throughput.
- Monitor progress and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
2. Assembly Operations Management
- Oversee assembly of capital equipment, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications.
- Maintain adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Implement 6S/shop floor organisation (layout optimisation).
- Coordinate cross-functional talkcleence (Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Projects).
- Introduce flexible manufacturing for new/existing products.

3. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal systems and external standards (e.g., ISO, FDA).
- Collaborate with Quality teams to reduce defects, rework, and warranty claims.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Support audits and regulatory compliance.
- Own business continuity for production operations.
4. Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE)
- Promote a zero-harm safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Drive continuous HSE improvements.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies across operations.
- Improve productivity, cost-efficiency, and lead time.
- Eliminate waste via process redesignor optimisation.
- Lead projects (e.g., layout redesign, digital tools management).
6. Stakeholder & Project Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering to ensure product/fabrication viability.
- Work with Supply Chain to maintain ** Inventory**.
- Support Project Managers in delivering complex capital equipment projects.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership.
7. Budget & Cost Control
- Manage production budgets, labour, operational costs.
- Track KPIs (e.g., labour efficiency, OEE, cost of poor quality).
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality.

People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leaders, and assembly technicians.
- Drive a high-performance culture (accountability, safety, and continuous improvement).
- Manage performance reviews, 1:1s, training, and succession planning.
- Ensure appopriate headcount and competency alignment.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven 5+ years experience as a Production/Manufacturing Manager in capital equipment/heavy engineering.
- Direct experience with ETO/configure-to-order (CTO) production methods.
- Strong CFT Ethernet, leadership, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to operationalise Lean/Six Sigma processes.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & continuous improvement.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate (H&S) desirable.
- Familiarity with industrial safety/regulatory standards.
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (lean/green belt certificate highly desirable).
- Preferred: ERP system experience (JDE, SAP).
Location & Travel Requirements
- Base: 5 days/week at Evesham factory (mix of shop floor + office tasks).
- Factory environment with occasional travel to suppliers/customers.
