Our client is a well-established and award-winning food manufacturer, renowned for producing authentic, high-quality food products distributed nationwide through major UK supermarkets. With a proud heritage and a growing product range spanning frozen, ready-to-eat, plant-based, and halal-certified lines, they are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their Birmingham site.

About The Role
As Production Manager, you'll take ownership of day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll lead a busy production floor, manage a team of operatives and supervisors, and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production operations, ensuring output meets volume, quality, and cost targets
- Lead, motivate, and develop the production team, including supervisors and shift staff
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (BRC/HACCP)
- Monitor and improve production efficiency, minimizing waste and downtime
- Manage production schedules in line with customer demand and stock requirements
- Work closely with technical, NPD, and quality teams to support product launches and specification changes
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement (lean manufacturing principles)
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, and performance across shifts
- Report on KPIs and production performance to senior management

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Production Manager within food manufacturing (FMCG/chilled/frozen food background preferred)
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and BRC accreditation
- Excellent people management and leadership skills
- Experience driving efficiency and continuous improvement on a production line
- Strong communication skills and a hands-on, proactive approach
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
