Production Manager

Production Manager – Swindon, Wiltshire £40,000 per annum Hawk3 Talent Solutions | Full-Time | Leadership Opportunity

Hawk3 Talent Solutions is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead a high-performing manufacturing team in Wiltshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role where you’ll oversee a well-structured team comprising:

  • 4 Team Leaders
  • 1 Assembly Manager
  • 1 Evening Shift Leader
  • 1 Production Planner
  • ~30 skilled production staff

The Role

As Production Manager, you’ll ensure operations run efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating daily production across both shifts
  • Ensuring on-time delivery while upkeeping exceptional quality standards
  • Improving production efficiency through smart planning and leadership
  • Adapting production plans to meet evolving customer demands
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing Team Leaders and wider staff
  • Driving performance via KPI tracking and clear communication
  • Promoting a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Conducting team meetings, inductions, appraisals, and disciplinary processes as needed
  • Managing attendance, timekeeping, and payroll accuracy
  • Enforcing health & safety compliance, safe systems, and PPE adherence
  • Addressing quality alerts through rigorous problem-solving
  • Reporting weekly machine performance and cascading insights

About You

We’re looking for a people-focused leader passionate about operational excellence and team development. Ideal candidates have:

  • Proven experience managing large teams in manufacturing environments
  • Confidence in using:
    • Production planning systems (MRP)
    • MS Office tools
  • Expertise in heavy manufacturing machinery
  • Strong coaching & mentoring skills
  • Proactive, positive mindset with a strategic outlook
  • Outstanding communication skills and an approachable leadership style
  • Experience in KPI reporting and performance management
