About The Role
We are seeking a highly driven and hands-on Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and deliver outstanding operational performance. This role is accountable for achieving departmental KPIs through structured problem-solving, clear ownership, and continuous improvement.
As a key site leader, you will oversee day-to-day operations while driving sustainable improvements in productivity, quality, delivery, and cost. You will translate business objectives into practical, output-driven production plans, ensuring optimal use of labour, materials, and equipment.
This role is based at our Glaisdale site in Nottingham and requires onsite presence five days per week.
This is a high-impact role requiring a visible, results-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes full ownership of outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full accountability for manufacturing performance, delivering against KPIs including output, productivity, quality, delivery (OTIF), and cost
- Lead daily operations, embedding structured Tiered Daily Management (HDMS) to monitor performance, drive escalation, and maintain visual KPI control
- Translate demand forecasts into efficient, output-based production plans using standard cycle times and capacity data
- Optimise labour utilisation and manage departmental budgets to maximise efficiency and minimise waste
- Drive Lean manufacturing principles including standard work, line balancing, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
- Own and deliver continuous improvement and DREAM initiatives with clear KPI impact and sustainable outcomes
- Identify constraints, resolve operational challenges, and continuously improve throughput and process flow
- Lead, coach, and develop Section Leaders and teams to take ownership of KPIs and apply structured problem-solving techniques
- Ensure high standards of product quality through robust quality control and ongoing improvement
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and other stakeholders
- Ensure equipment availability through effective maintenance planning and escalation
- Champion a strong Health & Safety culture and ensure compliance at all times

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role with direct accountability for KPI delivery
- Strong practical knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, including waste elimination and root cause problem-solving
- Demonstrated track record of delivering continuous improvement or transformation initiatives
- Ability to translate high-level business targets into actionable shopfloor plans
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions quickly
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Confident leader who drives performance through clear expectations, accountability, and coaching
- Resilient and decisive, with the ability to challenge the status quo and lead change effectively
- Highly organised, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled in influencing and building relationships across all levels of the organisation
- High potential individual with the ambition and capability to progress over time
