Role Description

The Production Manager role at Cope Electronics Ltd is a full-time (40hs/week), on-site position based in Kingswinford. The Production Manager will oversee daily production operations, ensuring electronic assembly processes run efficiently, safely, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning & scheduling production, coordinating SMT and through-hole assembly
  • Monitoring workflow, resources, and operational issues
  • Collaborating with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure timely & accurate delivery
  • Leading and supporting production staff
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining production records & reports

Salary & Duties

  • Salary: £40k–£45k, depending on experience

Core Duties Include:

  • Monitoring quality, safety, and production standards
  • Allocating resources to meet production schedules
  • Liaising daily with:
    • Purchasing & stores (for parts/kits)
    • Sales department (for customer delivery dates & orders)
  • Resolving staffing issues, including:
    • Absence management
    • Appraisals
    • Disciplinaries & training & development
  • Ensuring production aligns with ISO9001 Quality Management System
  • Assisting in inventory, WIP, and finished goods management

Required Skills & Experience

We are seeking results-driven individuals with:

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing environments (managing 30+ skilled shopfloor operatives)
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Good electronic component knowledge
  • Proven ability to drive KPIs
  • IT competency (strong Microsoft Office skills)
