About Emmi Desserts UK
Are you an experienced Production Manager who thrives in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment? Do you enjoy leading teams, driving performance, and ensuring great products are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards?
At Emmi Desserts UK, our Corby site produces frozen desserts for customers who expect excellence. We are looking for a confident, hands-on Production Manager to lead our night shift operation, supporting Team Leaders and wider production teams to deliver against plan while building a positive, safe, and high-performing culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop production teams through Team Leaders, fostering a culture where staff feel supported, accountable, and motivated.
- Take full ownership of night shift production performance, ensuring:
- Plans are delivered safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Health, safety, food safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), and hygiene standards are championed.
- Monitor KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and drive action plans to enhance:
- Efficiency
- Labour utilisation
- Waste reduction
- Quality
- Operational performance
- Collaborate closely with:
- Planning, Supply Chain, Technical, Engineering, NPD (New Product Development), HR, and Continuous Improvement teams.
- Support new product launches, process improvements, trials, and site projects.
- Manage day-to-day people activity, including:
- Performance reviews
- Absence management
- Holiday requests
- Investigations
- 1:1s where required
- Encourage continuous improvement, problem-solving, and strong communication across the shift.

Requirements & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Area Manager, or similar leadership role within food manufacturing or a fast-paced production environment.
- A strong people leader with the ability to coach, develop, and engage teams—especially on night shift.
- A solid understanding of:
- Health and safety
- Food safety
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
- Operational compliance standards
- Proven experience using KPIs to drive performance, solve problems, and foster continuous improvement.
- A confident communicator who can:
- Work cross-functionally.
- Build strong relationships across the site.
- Be organised, decisive, and proactive, with the ability to respond quickly to operational challenges.

While not mandatory, the following would be a real asset:
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Level 3 Food Hygiene
- ILM Leadership and Management
- COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) training
- Allergen Awareness
