The Role: Production Materiel Controller

The Production Materiel Controller will be pivotal for maintaining accurate raw material and production stock visibility across DeMellier’s global factory network. Key focus areas:

  • Stock management via ERP system housekeeping
  • Seasonal, factory-specific, and raw-material segregated tracking
  • Close collaboration with Production, Financial and Operational teams
  • Ensuring reliable stock data across all workflows: POs, BOM, receipts, and stock valuation readiness.

Responsibilities

Production Stock Management & System Housekeeping

  • Maintain granular production stock visibility by:
    • Season
    • Factory network
    • Supplier origin
    • Raw material category
  • Keep internal stock trackers synced with ERP for accuracy.
  • Monitor:
    • Open stock movements
    • Pending transactions
    • System discrepancies
  • Provide clear visibility of raw materials in these states:
    • Available
    • Issued
    • Transferred
    • Rejected
    • Faulty
    • Leftover
    • Pending reconciliation

Raw Materials Stock Control

  • Track the entire lifecycle of materials (leather, hardware, trims, packaging) from:
    • PO placement → supplier deliveries → factory receipts → seasonal closing stock.
  • Monitor:
    • Opening stock
    • Incoming deliveries and receipts
    • Internal/External transfers
    • Material over-consumption and under-consumption
    • Free-of-charge materials
  • Investigate discrepencies between:
    • Supplier invoices, packing lists, shipment info
    • Factory confirmations
    • Production trackers
    • ERP system records

Stock Book-Ins, Transfers & Documentation

  • Support ERP processes for:
    • Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs) creation, completion, and follow-through
      • Based on supplier invoices, packing lists, and shipment logs.
    • Pre stock-movements sanity checks:
      • Verify quantities, part numbers, warehouse and factory mappings, seasons and values.
  • Collaborate on:
    • Stock transfers
    • Seasonal cross-warehouse moves
  • Maintain clear tracking of & auditing:
    • Completed vs pending GRVs/transfers
    • Blocked transactions
  • Ensure commercial invoices and shipping vouchers align with stock movements.

Purchase Orders & Product BOM Management

  • Support stock-impact validation for:
    • Order planning
    • BOM alignment
  • Nominate materials shortages or execution bottlenecks, flagging:
    • Missing items
    • Erroneous BOM structures
    • Non-stockable setup traps
    • Work order blocker root causes.
  • Mediate resolution across:
    • Production, Industrialisation, Finance, and ERP support teams

Stock Monitoring & Reconciliation

  • Curate monthly Production Stock Readiness summaries.
  • Lead pre-month-end preps, reviewing and trending discrepancies
    • Pending transfers
    • Missing PAL records
    • Negative or non-reconciled stock.
  • Stock valuation readiness support:
    • Accurate, traceable data ensuring financial alignment.
  • Highlight stock risks and unresolved variances tagged by:
    • Factory sectors
    • Warehouse locations
    • Seasonal needs
    • Material deviations.

Process Control & Continuous Improvement

  • Build/restrict SOPs to:
    • Eliminate manual workload redundancy.
    • Strengthen data accuracy.
  • Document histories of:
    • Recurring ERP system issues
    • Associated manual workarounds
    • Ownership gaps (cross-departmental friction points).

Requirements

Experience

  • 3–5 years in stock control, inventory coordination, production administration or supply chain operations

    Preference for experience in fashion, accessories, or leather goods.

  • Familiarity with:
    • ERP systems
    • PLM platforms
    • ERP Priority system an asset.

Education

A degree or diploma in:

  • Business Administration
  • Production Management
  • Supply Chain
  • Finance Operations
  • Similar fields.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (tracking, reconciliation, volume data entry).
  • Methodical analytical and structured reconciliation skills.
  • Patience for accuracy under tight deadlines.

Soft Skills

  • Detail-oriented
  • Cross-source reconciliation ability
  • Communication: escalate blockers clearly, consistent follow-ups with:
    • Production
    • Finance
    • Operations
    • Suppliers
    • Factories.
  • Independence: self-managed, prioritising urgency.
  • Team-play and agility in fast-paced environments.

Language (Plus)

  • Spoken Spanish or Italian highly regarded.
