Production Operative
Location: Farnborough
Job Type: Permanent
We are looking for a hands-on Production Operative to join a technical manufacturing and production team in Farnborough. This role would suit someone with experience in electro-mechanical assembly, electronics testing, wiring, fault finding, repairs, and working to drawings or technical instructions. You will be involved in the build, test, repair and support of specialist production equipment, ensuring products are completed accurately, on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out wiring, assembly and testing of production equipment in line with project requirements.
- Support the build and testing of electronic and electro-mechanical products.
- Fault-find and repair equipment where required.
- Clean, process and log returned equipment and RMAs.
- Support development and engineering teams with prototype builds.
- Provide cover for goods in and goods out when required.
- Follow work instructions, drawings, diagrams and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure strong attention to detail throughout the build and test process.
- Keep the production area clean, tidy and organised.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and business priorities.

Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical assembly or electronics production.
- Experience with wiring, soldering, crimping or cable assembly.
- Ability to test and assemble electronics to board level.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and follow drawings, diagrams, work instructions or technical documentation.
- Good general IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight timescales.
- Good communication skills and a team-focused approach.

Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Windows Server.
- Experience working with Linux.
- Basic networking knowledge, including LAN, WAN, switches, routers or VLANs.
- HND, HNC or ONC in Electronics, or similar technical qualification.
