Production Operator
We are now recruiting for a Production Operator to join us on a permanent term. Reporting to the Shift Manager, this role will ensure that we achieve our business goals across DS Smith packaging.
Key Accountabilities
- Be accountable for own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating in line with SSOW (safe systems of work) and company procedures to enable a safe working environment.
- Raise any unsafe acts seen immediately with individual(s) concerned and immediate reporting of health and safety incidents to management
- Be responsible for the operation of machinery to ensure efficiencies are maximised and downtime is minimised.
- Achieve set productivity and performance targets ensuring consistent quality standards are met.
- Ensure that maintenance and cleaning tasks are carried out correctly and in line with the planned maintenance schedule. Support and assist with improvement initiatives

Hours Of Work
The candidate will work 37.5hrs a week across a double shift pattern (shorter shifts on Friday) which consists of:
- Morning: 6am - 2pm
- Afternoons: 2pm - 10pm
Experience And Key Attributes Required
- Experience of working in a production/machine operating environment
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
- Enthusiasm to join our team
- The drive to rise to challenges and good problem solving abilities
- The desire to progress within a Company that values its employees and puts safety first
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
