Production Operative/ General Operative
Production / General Operative (Pharmaceuticals)
📍 Location: Swindon (Kingfisher Drive) 📅 Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract 💰 Pay Rate: £13.86/hr + 22 Shift Allowance 🕒 Shift Pattern: Monday–Friday, alternating Early (07:00–15:00) and Late (15:00–22:45) shifts 🔄 Overtime: Available weekdays and weekends (Saturday/Sunday)
About the Role

As a General Operative, you’ll support aseptic and non-aseptic liquid filling and packaging lines. This is a career-building opportunity for someone with an eagle eye for detail, a methodical mindset, and a passion for the pharmaceutical sector.
Key Responsibilities

Cleanroom Compliance
- Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning, sanitation, and correct gowning protocol to maintain cleanroom integrity.

Licensing & Qualification
- Complete training to attain and maintain a Bronze License Badge for Grade C/D production area access (requalification every 2 years).

Material Handling & Operation
- Safely transfer production components into classified cleanroom spaces.
- Assist with Part Washer and Autoclave equipment after targeted training.

Line Maintenance
- Perform end-of-run line clearances, product labeling, and final retail packaging.

Quality & Data Integrity
- Conduct in-process weight checks and accurately complete regulatory paperwork and site logbooks.

Defect Escalation
- Immediately report processing or material non-conformances to Area Leaders or Quality Assurance.
What We Are Looking For
Education & Numeracy
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above).
- Strong basic numeracy skills with the ability to interpret complex written instructions.
Experience
- Regulated environment experience is preferred (e.g., pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, automotive, cosmetics, or general precision engineering).
Key Attributes
- Repetitive Concentration: Ability to sustain focus on precise, repetitive production routines.
- Physical Fitness: Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 15kg (adjustments available).
- The Patient:First Mindset: Methodical approach prioritising health, safety, and strict quality control.

Strict Cleanroom (GMP) Requirements
The following are strictly prohibited in production zones—agreement required prior to employment:
❌ No Cosmetics
- No makeup, fake tan, tinted moisturisers, or temporary body art (e.g., henna).
❌ No Nail Enhancements
- No nail varnish, false nails (gels, acrylics, tips), or eyelash extensions/false eyelashes.
❌ No Jewelry
- All jewelry (stud earrings, body piercings, watches, chains) must be removed.
- Only a single plain metal wedding band permitted.
❌ Skin Health
- No active skin infections, open lesions, or cuts/grazes permitted.
