Job Vacancy

Location: Chinley

Job Title: Production Operative

Salary: £30,441.65 (Includes shift allowance)

No. Positions: 2

Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Rotating shift pattern, one week day’s, one week nights Monday – Thursday)

The Role

We’re looking for a reliable and practical Production Operative to support the compounds teams. This is a hands-on role involving setting up plant and machinery, handling raw materials, packing finished product, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mixing polymer, additives, and pigments to set formulations
  • Measuring out raw materials accurately as per the compound ‘recipe’
  • Loading these materials into hoppers for mixing (this requires lifting up to 25kg)
  • Setting and monitoring the machines to ensure the raw materials are mixed to the correct customer quality specification
  • Operating and monitoring extrusion lines
  • Carrying out in-process quality checks and recording results
  • Completing material and colour changeovers
  • Packaging and storing finished products correctly
  • Adhering to Health & Safety and Quality standards
  • Operating FLT safely to transport raw materials, packaging, finished goods, etc., around the site

The Candidate

Knowledge / Experience / Skills Required

  • Previous production/manufacturing experience or similar experience
  • Hold an FLT licence (if not – full training will be provided)
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety and Quality standards
  • Have the ability to work as a member of a team
  • Have an eye for detail and the ability to use your initiative
  • Basic problem solving
  • Computer literate
