Essential Ingredients (Key Qualities Needed)

  • Willingness to work a flexible shift pattern, including days, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays
  • Experience in food manufacturing/production (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic understanding of health & safety and food hygiene standards
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes/technologies

The Recipe (Your Role & Responsibilities)

As a Production Operative, you’ll contribute to ensuring our bakery products meet the highest quality, safety, and efficiency standards while forming part of a fast-paced team.

Key Duties:

  • Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment
  • Ensure products adhere to quality standards and specifications
  • Conduct routine checks and record production data accurately
  • Adhere to health & safety and food hygiene procedures at all times
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet production targets
  • Report faults/issues promptly to the Team Leader
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas

About Us

Our Bristol Bakery and Distribution Depot is located at Severn Beach (near Bristol), just:

  • 15 minutes from the M5
  • 10 minutes from the Severn Bridge.

We boast three state-of-the-art manufacturing plants, with Bristol Bakery proudly hosting one of our latest innovations: The Bagel! Here, we manufacture and distribute over 12 different bakery products, producing 160,000+ units of freshly baked goods weekly across the UK.

With nearly 400 colleagues—representing 21+ nationalities—working varied shifts, the bakery operates 363 days a year, 24/7. Bristol is also a dedicated Driver Training Centre and key Distribution Hub for the region.
