Production Operator – Walkers Factory, Leicester

Overview

Join our team at PepsiCo Leicester! We’re looking for hands-on individuals to help produce one of the UK’s favourite snacks – Walkers crisps. If you enjoy troubleshooting and working with machinery, this role could be the perfect fit for you.


Working Hours

  • Continental shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off
  • Weekly average: 42 hours
  • Includes weekends, bank holidays, and night shifts
  • Shift length: 12 hours continuous

Salary & Benefits

  • Annual salary: £38,951.30 (including 23.5% shift premium)
  • Quarterly performance bonuses
  • Generous pension scheme: PepsiCo matches your contributions 2:1 (you pay 5%, we add 10%)

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment efficiently to ensure smooth production line performance
  • Conduct regular checks and basic maintenance for optimal equipment operation
  • Spot risks and report safety concerns immediately
  • Log and solve operational issues as part of the team
  • Adapt machinery for product changes or batch transitions
  • Provide clear shift handover communications

Qualifications & Skills

  • Hands-on experience in a production or factory environment
  • Ability to inspect equipment, identify defects, and replace basic parts
  • Problem-solving aptitude (e.g., identifying and resolving minor machine malfunctions)
  • Strong safety awareness and compliance focus
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
