Production Operator – Walkers Factory, Leicester
Overview
Join our team at PepsiCo Leicester! We’re looking for hands-on individuals to help produce one of the UK’s favourite snacks – Walkers crisps. If you enjoy troubleshooting and working with machinery, this role could be the perfect fit for you.
Working Hours
- Continental shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off
- Weekly average: 42 hours
- Includes weekends, bank holidays, and night shifts
- Shift length: 12 hours continuous
Salary & Benefits
- Annual salary: £38,951.30 (including 23.5% shift premium)
- Quarterly performance bonuses

Responsibilities
- Operate equipment efficiently to ensure smooth production line performance
- Conduct regular checks and basic maintenance for optimal equipment operation
- Spot risks and report safety concerns immediately
- Log and solve operational issues as part of the team
- Adapt machinery for product changes or batch transitions
- Provide clear shift handover communications
Qualifications & Skills
- Hands-on experience in a production or factory environment
- Ability to inspect equipment, identify defects, and replace basic parts
- Problem-solving aptitude (e.g., identifying and resolving minor machine malfunctions)
- Strong safety awareness and compliance focus
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
