Position Overview
The Production Operator is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through the preparation of raw materials, operation of production equipment, packaging of finished goods, and adherence to H.B. Fuller quality and safety standards. This entry-level role works within established procedures to ensure efficient production, product quality, and a safe working environment. The position requires flexibility to work shifts and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing setting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare raw materials and packaging components by identifying, measuring, and transporting required quantities to production areas.
- Record process start and finish times and report any deviations from standard procedures.
- Operate processing and production equipment in accordance with approved work instructions and operating procedures.
- Monitor equipment performance and maintain production processes at established operating rates.
- Perform initial product testing and release checks to ensure compliance with product specifications.
- Verify labels and packaging materials to ensure accurate product identification and compliance with established requirements.
- Package finished products according to work instructions and H.B. Fuller quality standards.
- Follow all quality standards, operating procedures, environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards within assigned work areas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- No prior manufacturing experience required.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders, production processes, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
- Availability to work assigned shifts, including rotating schedules where applicable.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while following established procedures and standards.
Preferred Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Basic English language comprehension and communication skills.
- Experience working with production processes, manufacturing equipment, or packaging operations.
- Familiarity with quality control and workplace safety practices in a manufacturing setting.

Physical Work Environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stretch, and reach as required.
- Ability to lift and move boxes and materials using proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Work performed in a chemical manufacturing environment with normal exposure to temperature variations, dust, odors, and noise.
