Pharmaceutical Production Operator - Day/Back shift

Location: Glasgow, G20 0XA
Hours: Day/Back shift 6.30 to 2.30 and 2pm to 10pm
Starting salary: Up to £32,000 (including shift allowance)


About the Role

This position is for a pharmaceutical production operator to join our aseptic manufacturing team supporting the development of new medicines, primarily sterile injectable products. Curia work to a high standard of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and within a sterile environment. Curia provides the Gold Standard of pharma training and development in our niche area of expertise. This training starts with a commitment to reading and understanding standard operating procedures before applying this knowledge to cleanroom manufacturing activities. Full training will be provided for bespoke Curia processes and suitable for a science graduate; however, experience in a similar environment is also desirable.

Training is ongoing and includes learning the flow of work to progress our team members through different job levels. This will cover a variety of tasks, from being responsible for carrying out routine activities required for the cleaning and maintenance of the clean rooms to participating in learning the manufacturing processes involved in sterile medicinal products. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation and sterilisation (as required) of equipment for use in clean rooms including components, raw materials, equipment, peripherals, and cleaning equipment
  • Sterile cleaning of Grade A cleanrooms
  • Manufacturing of products in compliance with all relevant internal procedures, cGMP, and customer-specific documentation
  • All aspects of the final filling and associated monitoring of manufactured product in compliance with all relevant internal procedures, cGMP, and customer-specific documentation
  • All aspects of reconciliation (Bulk solution, waste, vials, finished product)
  • Accurate and timely completion of batch manufacturing records, worksheets, and logbooks to the required standard in support of the above activities
  • Participation in training sessions in support of manufacturing activities
  • Daily recording of clean room over pressures
  • Participation in training sessions in support of manufacturing activities
  • Ensuring Training Record folders are suitably maintained with appropriate documentation to show competency for each activity performed
  • Ensure a team player culture throughout Production
  • Participate in maintaining housekeeping standards and audit readiness of facility adhering to high standards with a safety-first mindset at all times
  • Promote the Company’s best interest at all times by the positive and effective manner in which you perform your duties

Previous Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar pharmaceutical production environment is preferred
  • The ideal person will already have a good understanding of GMP requirements and quality systems, gained through working in a regulated GMP environment
  • A science-related academic qualification or alternative industry work experience
  • A fair and motivated team player
  • A high level of communication skills both verbal and written
  • A safety-first, Quality-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Focussed on delivery output - flexible approach to ensure the work is complete
  • Flexibility and paid overtime when required
