SST Sensing Limited, a division of DwyerOmega, designs and manufactures a range of electronic sensors and instruments, specialising in fluid and gas sensing products that have been supplied to multiple industries for over 20 years.

Our design and manufacturing facilities are located in Shawhead Industrial Estate, Coatbridge, just off the recently developed A8/M8. The Operations team work a nine-day fortnight (an averaged 36-hour week), Monday to Thursday, 7:45am to 4:45pm and every second Friday 7:45am to 11:45am. The company offers a competitive hourly rate, healthcare and life insurance.

The Role

We seek a motivated and flexible production operator who has experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; an electronic manufacturing background is advantageous.

The role involves assembling small components so being manually dexterous, with a good attention to detail is essential. Soldering is a key element within the role so experience in this type of work is also essential. Applicants who are invited to interview stage will be asked to demonstrate their soldering skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assembly of components and sub-assemblies
  • Carrying out visual quality checks to ensure compliance with production standards and specifications
  • Testing assemblies to ensure compliance
  • Packing and labelling of finished parts to standard and customer specific requirements

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in an assembly or a manufacturing environment
  • Good practical skills and the ability to work quickly and precisely, demonstrating excellent dexterity and hand to eye coordination
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Soldering skills are desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of manufacturing work instructions and quality control processes
  • Ability to follow instructions with an awareness of health and safety
  • Ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks
  • Good team working skills
  • Excellent time-management
