Production Operator - Meat Slicing
Meat Production Team Member – Slicer (Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week)
Overview
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Key Focus: Execute efficient, high-quality meat slicing while supporting teamwork and operational efficiency.
- Rewards: £14.09/hour + bonus + deliverables including benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Meat Slicing:
- Operate meat slicers at planned production speeds.
- Accurately slice meat to weight and slice specifications on first attempt.
- Achieve a "right-first-time" hygiene standard with no repeat errors.

Production Operations:
- Set up slicing machinery, handle meat logistics, and complete batch paperwork.
- Conduct efficient changeovers, including machine cleaning, waste disposal, and area sanitisation.
- Support multi-portion and twin-portion lines, weighing products as required.

Safety & Hygiene:
- Adhere to basic food hygiene training (pass required).
- Follow traditional cleaning standards—operate on a "clean as you work" policy.
- Daily food safety procedures, including hairdress and glove protocols.
- Ensure workspaces and equipment comply with high hygiene and safety regulations.

Proactive Measures:
- Report quality concerns directly to lead operators or per department protocols (see fill card for guidance).
- Maintain personal and workplace safety: follow risk assessments, report hazards, and adhere to safe working practices.

Sustainability:
- Reduce waste: aim for perfection 1st time and properly segregation of recyclables/disposables.
- Contribute to the company’s Net Zero 2040 goals by optimizing processes.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Proven ability to work to set standards and KPIs.
- Strong English literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience in production environments, including following workflows and schedules.
- Completion of Level 2 Food Safety training (pass required).
Desirable Attributes
- Existing food safety certification (Level 2 preferred).
- Adaptability to learning new tasks across the department— flexibility is key.
