What to Expect
Gates (U.K.) Limited are recruiting for additional Production Operators at their Eaton Socon, St. Neots location. This will be a 2 shift pattern (Week 1: Mon-Fri 06.00-14.00 / Week 2: Mon-Thu 14.00-22.30 & 14.00-20.00 Fri).
Production Operators are responsible for producing Hydraulic Hose Assemblies in accordance with the St Neots production plan utilising lean manufacturing methodologies as defined under the Gates Production System (GPS) whilst ensuring that all the requirements of the company H&S, Quality and Environmental/Energy Management Systems are fully complied with.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work safely at all times, complying with Health & Safety procedures and Gates Life Critical Rules.
- Identify and report H&S, quality or environmental risks and support containment actions when required.
- Follow quality control procedures to ensure products are produced right first time.
- Support productivity targets through efficient, disciplined working practices.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing (GPS) activities and accurate data collection.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and actively support 5S.
- Work collaboratively as part of a small, flexible team and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Keys to Success
- A good working knowledge/experience of working within a Production environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English)
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Requirements and Preferred Skills
- Experience of working in a Production environment is desired.
- Must be Customer and Quality focused; demonstrating ability to adapt and change.
- Promote a positive atmosphere so that the department has a strong team, accept challenges and have a strong commitment and desire to exceed and achieve the stated goals and objectives.
- Must have good communication skills and the ability to train others, being able to communicate effectively, enabling other team members to understand and support company goals and objectives.
- Must have a flexible attitude/desire to be able to turn their hand to anything, as with the team being very small the duties will be variable and the flexibility of the person is paramount to achieving the goals.
