Job Description Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for orchestrating and optimising daily and long-range production schedules to ensure timely availability of materials, efficient use of labour and equipment, and a smooth, continuous production flow.

This role uses planning and scheduling tools to translate demand and capacity into executable plans, allocates resources to meet customer and operational commitments, and closely monitors work schedules to identify and resolve bottlenecks. The Production Planner regularly analyses production and inventory data to adjust plans, improve throughput, and reduce delays or excess stock.

Success in this role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams across operations, supply chain, quality, and engineering to align priorities, communicate changes, and resolve constraints. The planner also helps drive adherence to operational standards and procedures, supporting a safe, high-quality, and reliable manufacturing environment.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the planning and production process.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other teams, such as manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering, to meet production goals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
