Production Planner

Production Planner Permanent Position – Berwickshire – Industrial & Manufacturing Sector

About the Role

We are seeking a disciplined, organised, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Production Planner. This full-time permanent role will focus on ensuring the efficient coordination of production activities to meet customer deadlines while optimising operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining production plans to guarantee timely delivery of customer orders.
  • Collaborating with Customer Service, Sales, and Operations to align workflows and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Managing semi-finished goods (SFG) and finished goods (FG) inventory, ensuring stock levels remain optimal.
  • Monitoring and adjusting production schedules based on evolving business priorities.
  • Enforcing health, safety, and 5S standards while maintaining clean, well-organised work areas.
  • Generating and maintaining planning reports and performance dashboards using Microsoft Excel.
  • Supporting broader Supply Chain Manager initiatives as required.

  • Inventory & Supply Chain Management

    • Oversee SFG and FG inventory, correcting stock levels as needed.
    • Continuously review and adjust production schedules in response to changing business demands and priorities.
  • Compliance & Safety

    • Uphold all health, safety, and company procedures at every level.
    • Imports and sustains 5S work area standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain).
  • Reporting & Analysis

    • Compile and maintain planning reports and performance metrics using Microsoft Excel.
    • Analyse operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and actionable improvements.

Supportive Duties

  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager in addressing any other organisational needs as requested.

Profile Checklist

Ideally, the candidate for this role will have: ✅ Preferred: Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing. ✅ Essential: Proficient use of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with computerised planning systems desirable. ✅ Strong knowledge of production operations, safety protocols, or manufacturing processes (advantageous). ✅ Leadership skills in multi-department collaboration with Customer Service, Sales, and Operations. ✅ Organisational agility including time management, prioritisation, and workload optimisation. ✅ Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to justify and execute data-driven decisions.

Compensation.

  • Salary: Competitive range of £30,600 – £34,000 per annum, inclusive of site bonus.
