Filtronic

Filtronic is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance RF, microwave and millimetre-wave technologies. Our products support customers across telecommunications infrastructure, aerospace, defence, space and critical communications.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Production Planner

to join the Operations team based at our state-of-the-art production facility on NetPark, Sedgefield.

This is a key role in helping us deliver complex, high-performance RF, microwave and millimetre-wave technologies to customers operating in fast-moving and demanding markets. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining and coordinating production plans that support customer delivery, efficient use of manufacturing resources and smooth flow through production.

Working closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Project teams, you will balance customer demand, material availability, manufacturing capacity and operational priorities across multiple product lines. You will ensure that plans are realistic, visible and deliverable, while identifying and escalating risks before they impact delivery.

You will develop and maintain production plans and schedules that support customer demand and business priorities. This will include converting customer orders, demand signals and project requirements into achievable manufacturing plans, monitoring material availability and capacity, and keeping ERP/MRP planning data accurate and up to date.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will also support daily and weekly production planning reviews, providing clear updates on priorities, risks, progress and required actions. As part of the wider Operations team, you will contribute to continuous improvement activity, helping to improve planning processes, schedule adherence, operational visibility and production flow.

Requirements

We need to see experience in production planning, manufacturing planning, scheduling, supply chain planning or materials control, ideally gained within a manufacturing, engineering, electronics or high-reliability production environment.

You should have a good working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of production flow, capacity planning, material availability and work-in-progress management. You will be organised, detail-focused and confident communicating with stakeholders across Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain.

Experience in electronics, RF, microwave, semiconductor, aerospace, defence or another advanced manufacturing environment would be advantageous, as would experience supporting NPI, engineering change or production ramp-up activity.

About You

You will be proactive, structured and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be comfortable identifying risks, driving actions and working collaboratively across teams to keep plans on track.
