About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and competent individual to fill a critical role in planning and scheduling our production department. As an important advisor to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient, effective manufacturing—meeting our customers' on-time delivery requirements.
Ideal fit for:
- Someone with a strong background in knitwear (preferred) or manufacturing
- Professionals with advanced organisational and problem-solving skills
- Those who can mitigate complexity, prioritise workloads effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
Core duties include (but are not limited to):
- Create and maintain production schedules for:
- Knitting
- Linking
- Hand sewing
- Finishing
- Warehouse operations
- Develop sub-contractor plans aligned with customer delivery commitments
- Sequence orders based on priority and process constraints
- Align production with customer delivery requirements (pre-production input)
- Re-plan proactively in response to:
- Delays
- Quality issues
- Employee absences
- Analyse capacity vs. demand across all departments
- Balance workloads, identify bottlenecks, and optimise workflow
- Collaborate with key stakeholders:
- Production managers
- Team leaders
- Pre-production & Demand Planners
- Sub-contractor teams
- Ensure clear communication of schedules and updates
- Build "right-first-time" production plans
- Track and report on:
- Production performance
- Capacity utilisation
- On-time delivery accuracy
- Identify efficiency improvements in scheduling and workflow
- Contribute to lean initiatives and process optimisation
- Support development of planning tools and systems as the site scales

Requirements
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in production planning/scheduling (manufacturing preferred)
- Strong grasp of multi-stage production processes
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organisation, problem-solving, and adaptability
- Ability to manage complexity and reprioritise efficiently
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
